Combat drones in version 14 do a surprising amount of damage once upgraded, and also hit air units, though they return to Nova while sniping.

With Drone Hangar Mastery at level 0, the drones will have a calulated period of 1.56 (though estimated period is 1.62). Drone war dramatically reduces this down to 1.01 calculated period (though estimated period is 1.08)
The total damage output is 5*15*2/1.62 = 92 DPS, or 139 DPS with leadership.
However, since you get 5 to 6 drones, and they both attack twice, small changes really add a lot to your damage. Weakspot especially will increase your DPS on spines and other high armor structures, though the +12 structure damage talent does negate much of the damage.
Damage will cap out near end game at around 600 DPS to heroic structure units like hives, assuming you also have Weakspot mastery to ignore armor. Around level 80, each drone will do 34 + (30 heroic + 12 structure)/2 = 55 damage, with a period of 1.08. 6*55*2/1.08 = 611 DPS, or 917 with leadership.
